Bike Mike World has turned 14 years old on July 1, 2009. He started with a small webpage in July of 1995.
The main thing on this website is about Big Mike being involved with the Multiple Sclerosis 100 mile and 170 mile bike tour that he rides in every year. There is a story on Mike riding for Multiple Sclerosis and some short info/story on Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Multiple Sclerosis New Jersey Metro Chapter now runs two well known MS bike tours here in New Jersey. The "Coast the Coast" MS-25/50/85/170 mile bike tour that runs in the month of May. Then you have the "The Great New Jersey Country Bike Ride" MS-20/50/100 mile bike tour in the month of September. MS Mid-Jersey Chapter and the MS Greater North Jersey Chapter merged October 1, 2008. To form the New Jersey Metro Chapter. This newly formed New Jersey Chapter also does a MS Walk in the month of April.
Their are Multiple Sclerosis pages up from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and from Delaware. Local Multiple Sclerosis links for information, volunteers and trying out MS bike tour that each chapter in New Jersey and in neighboring states does.

"Wet and Sunny
2009 MS 100"
(Oct 24, 2009) . . . This year September 2009 MS 100 bike ride was good. Even though it was wet on saturday. It was not chilly or cold like it was on the second day of the MS 170 bike ride this past May 2009. Actually . . . . . Mike broke his personal time on saturday. Sunday was dry and warm. Mike did not take many photos on the first day of the tour. Because of the light rain and rain showers. He made up for it on sunday. Mike now has the photos up. There is three page full of photos. "Bike Mike Makes
Eagle Rank"
(September 4, 2008) . . . Big Mike and his friend John made the New Jersey Section of the New Jersey Star Ledger newspaper on July 25, 2008. It included a huge photo of him and his great friend John. A wonderful story by Star Ledger Reporter Elizabeth Moore.
John and Big Mike has made Eagle Scout rank on June 22, 2008. It is a special scout troop. Both John and Mike are very happy. Yes....it did take a very long time. It was hard. It was really worth it.

"Mike Impact On NWS"
(January 3, 2010) . . . Bike Mike makes a impact on NWS Wrestling on November 6, 2009. Mike's favorite wrestler that represented the township of Belleville. He is Vicious Vin. He has done good for a couple of years. A lot of people love the guy. Did the right thing. As I am his number one fan loved him. Noticed his top fan always there cheering for him. Giving the thumbs up.
Then that all changed on friday, November 6, 2009. Vicious Vin has changed sides. Turn for the worse. He has sided with Danny Demanto's team. Now he hates the township, hated what he was and hated his top fan. Which was Bike Mike. Made Mike really sad and almost in tears. Mike asked him why? No response from Vicious Vin. Vin was busy yelling. A question was ask to Bike Mike. Are you going to do anything Mike? No comment by Bike Mike at the time of the question. He was interviewed on video after the NWS show on November 6th, 2009. To find out what was said. You have to see the video.

"Mike 4 Months From MS 170"
(January 24, 2010) . . . Mike has registered for the "Coast the Coast" 170 mile bike tour. Which is May 22 and 23, 2010. Mike used part of the birthday money to enter. It will be Mike's 18th time in the "Coast the Coast" 170 mile bike tour. To help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. He only has three more years to make it 20 years. Mike does not want to break that cycle.
It is that time of the year again. You may pledge / donate for the up coming bike tour for New Jersey Metro Chapter Multiple Sclerosis. Mike's goal is to reach over $2,000 for the 6th year for MS.

"Bike Mike - The Richman Ride"
 On wednesday morning of March 25, 2009. Bike Mike Dowd's friend Arthur Richman, 83, passed away. He is also friends with Perfect Pitch HRD and Attilio's Tavern owners. He was a former NY Yankees Advisor and a baseball sport writer. Arthur helped out at the Perfect Pitch Homerun Derby (HRD) event in June of every year. HRD is run by the awesome Michael Pesci. A nice story about Arthur Richman is on the offical New York Yankees website.
Bike Mike had a problem with growing a tree he took care of for over ten years. With word and help by Michael Pesci to the Denville, NJ council. Township of Denville, NJ voted to plant the tree at Gardener Field in Denville, NJ. So Bike Mike's tree was planted on May 27, 2006. Mike even helped plant the wonderful tree.
The tree is in Honor of Arthur Richman. In Memory of Donald S. from Boy Scouts, SGT. Chester Parciak that is Mike's grandfather and Belleville High teacher Albert Alves.
On May 27, 2009, with the help from a great bunch of people like Bert, Mayor Dodd of Denville, Fritz, Michael Pesci, Gino and Lisa. Bike Mike had a wonderful bike trip from where he lives to Gardener Field and to Attilio's Tavern in Dover, NJ. Even had a picnic in Gardener Field. Mike even has a red, white and blue ribbon given to him by Fraknlin Farms to place on the tree.
The weather called for 60 percent chance of showers for the day. It never came. Instead the sun peaked out a few times during the afternoon.

(June 16, 2008) Mike rode his bicycle to Gardener Field in Denville, NJ on May 27, 2008. He almost did not ride on that date. Learn more when you click on the caption link.
 Known by many as "Big Mike" for having a big heart or "Bike Mike" for spending so much time on his beloved bike, Dowd has made it his priority to raise funding for MS research year in and year out.

"Three Years on LunarPages.com"
(December 2, 2009) . . . . Bike Mike World has been on the air for 14 years as of July 2009. Has been comfy in a nice warm home (host) on lunarpages.com for three years. Bike Mike World moved into the new home on December 4, 2006. With a lot of room. Mike celebrated by sending a message to a high staff at lunarpages.com. Got a response that says thanks for being with us. We are glad to help BikeMikeWorld stay on the air says lunarpages.com.

Mike has been in the Special Olympic bowling and basketball league for a couple of years now. He plans on being on the basketball team for the 2010 season. 2009 is his 5th year in basektball. The team Mike's on has made it to the 2009 Finals in Wildwood, NJ and got 4th place overall.

"New Site Fixed"
All pages has been updated with better codes by using the CoffeeCup HTML 2008 Editor software. Mike took off all the old HTML codes and put up better codes.
One thing Mike will continue doing is adjust some things along the way to improve the site appearance and easy to get around.
